Zhuang Brocade

Zhuang brocade, one of China's four famous brocades, is woven by the Zhuang people of Guangxi using bamboo-frame looms with a distinctive "flower cage" for pattern lifting. Dating to the Han Dynasty and flourishing in the Tang-Song era, its vibrant geometric designs embody the Zhuang people's optimism and cultural memory. This "living fossil" of textile history was inscribed as national intangible cultural heritage in 2006.
